Harrow Children’s Fund

The requirement

The existing Harrow Children’s Fund site was in need of a complete refresh as it wasn’t reaching the young people of Harrow. The primary aim of the Harrow site was to speak directly to children providing them with a place where they could voice their opinions and find out what was happening in and around Harrow.

Our Approach

After coming up with a few initial designs we presented them to a workgroup involving the young people of Harrow. Their input was invaluable and helped to mould the site into something they had been a part of. Activities such as designing characters for the site enabled the children to help shape a site they could relate to.

The Outcome

This community website has evolved into a very successful finished product which speaks directly to its target audience, absorbing the input of young people and various groups along the way.

Lambeth Children’s Fund

The requirement

The Lambeth Children’s Fund were looking for a website which provided information on many levels from adults to young people. The site had to be fully content managed and compliant with WAI accessibility level ‘AA’. The design process had to involve the young people of Lambeth as much as possible.

Our Approach

Form the onset of the project it was vital that we listened to young people to find out what they loved about the web. What would they find interesting? What were their favourite colours? What content would they find useful? The process was very fluid as the website evolved through working on activities pertaining to the website with young people. Allowing their input into the finished product has helped create a site they feel ownership over.

The Outcome

The site has been a success. With games, up-to-date events, galleries and ‘have your say’ sections it has been a hit with the young people of Lambeth.
